So I was doing research for a school paper, and I ran into this interesting link on Google. The page is titled: "Senator Clinton's Remarks to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)." This is straight from Hillary Clinton's Senate website, and is dated February 1, 2007. This speech pretty much sums up what to except in terms of her foreign policy if elected President, so if you want the United States to move towards peace around the world in the next few years, you might want to start looking at another candidate.

Her comments about Iran sound like they came from Fox News or some other right-wing nut case:

"Israel is a beacon of what's right in a neighborhood overshadowed by the wrongs of radicalism, extremism, despotism and terrorism. We need only look to one of Israel's greatest threats: namely, Iran. Make no mistake, Iran poses a threat not only to Israel, but to the entire Middle East and beyond, including the U.S."

She also mentions that the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has:

"...called for Israel to be wiped off the map."

To this day, I still have not seen the evidence that he has said that. If someone has a transcript of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech using that line, please post it in the comments. More on Iran:

"But Iran is a threat not only because of the hateful rhetoric spewed by its president, not only because of its nuclear ambitions, but because it uses its influence and its revenues in the region to support terrorist elements that are attacking innocent Israelis; and now we believe attacking American soldiers. Explosions in Lebanon vs. Wintry Weather

Yes, wintry weather and eleven feet of snow in New York is a story, but it isn't the only story. Same goes for Anna Nicole Smith. If I want to hear about it, I will watch E! or some other lame entertainment show. I have had the tv on quite a bit today, and have not heard one mention of the explosions that rocked Beirut, Lebanon. Two buses were destroyed, with at least 3 reported dead and 20 wounded. One is to wonder, if this tragedy took place inside of Israel, would the American media have reported on it? And if so, how much coverage would it receive?

Media Hypocrisy, Yet Again

The media has been reporting on the comments of Australian Prime Minister John Howard today about Barack Obama and the Democrats, with not one ounce of criticism:

"If I were running al-Qa'ida in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and be praying as many times as possible for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats"

I remember a few months back, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez made comments calling President Bush the devil, and he was pulverized by the American media.

At least Obama's campaign people seem to have backbones (so far); an Obama spokesman fired back at the Prime Minister's comments calling them: "cowboy rhetoric."

Conflict in the Niger Delta

The other day CNN ran a two part story on the on-going conflict in the Niger Delta. The Nigerian government and oil companies have been exploiting the people of the Delta for years, stealing the oil and not giving any of the profits to the locals that live in poverty. At this point you can guess what was going to happen. A rebel group called MEND (Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta) formed to fight the oil companies, disrupting the oil production.

CNN reports: "Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer. In 2005, it was the world's sixth largest exporter of oil, but the conflict there has cut distribution by an estimated 500,000 barrels per day, according to the U.S. Department of Energy."

MEND also started kidnapping foreign oil workers. They are believed to have 30 hostages now, one of them an American. CNN's international correspondent Jeff Koinange traveled to the Niger Delta to uncover this story, being shot at while trying to do so. It is definitely worth a read to see what is going on. No Memory Expert for Libby Trial

Fox News' weatherman and GOP loyalist Steve Doocy has a book out. That completes the circle, all three Fox and Friends hosts now have their own books out. You have the dud "Sports Guy" Brian, the trailer trash favorite Edie, and now the giant doofus Steve. I enjoy making fun of these three idiots, but they do a much better job of it themselves everyday on national tv.

Well, here is the part everyone is waiting for; The Doo-sters new book, titled "The Mr. & Mrs. Happy Handbook: Everything I Know About Love and Marriage (with corrections by Mrs. Doocy)."

What is really funny about this is when I first heard about the book yesterday morning on Fox and Friends, the three idiots were going after Madonna for promoting her new children's book with her new kid, and after that segment it went to Doocy doing the weather and then the weather map turned into a large photo of his new book which he was promoting. Do they realize how embarrassing they really are?

One last thing, in Doocy's thank you note, he mentions how his book made the New York Times best seller list. That's interesting, I thought only "liberal" books were listed there. That is what I hear at least from Mr. O"Reilly.

Last night, Harry Anderson was a guest on "Real Time with Bill Maher", and was talking about why he is leaving New Orleans. Anderson mentioned how he couldn't believe that Mayor Ray Nagan was re-elected among other things.

This morning on "Fox and Friends", the weekend idiots were talking about Harry Anderson leaving New Orleans. They mentioned how Anderson criticized Nagan, like that was a bad thing. Wasn't the media, including Fox News, critical of Ray Nagan and the local governments after Hurricane Katrina? The best part was near the end of the segment, where the idiots from Fox News went off and said how the housing market is booming in New Orleans and how Anderson is making good money off of selling his house. Leave it to Fox News to try and smear someone for leaving a disaster zone.

Americans More Critical of DA in JonBenet Case than Bush/Iraq

I was watching the Press Conference about the JonBenet case at noon today, and the District Attorney started out by saying that she has been getting phone calls from angry people in regards to the case. She said one man left a message that said she should actually be tarred and feathered for her failures. How come people didn't get that mad when the facts were out on how the Bush Administration lied us into war? Or how Bush handled Hurricane Katrina? Or how Bush didn't want to form a 9/11 Commission? The list goes on.

It's not just stupid Americans, it's also the media. Where were they when the Bush Administration was on the 'march to war' with Iraq? The media was too busy cheerleading for war. No one questioned it. They kept putting the crooks (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell) on TV after 9/11, so they could try and sell us their war. They got their war, but where is the media now?? They jump on to stories like the JonBenet case, and try and turn the suspected person into a criminal. I am not sticking up for this Karr guy, but the media tends to criminalize any suspects in a high profile case.

Remember the Elizabeth Smart story? The police took in to custody the Smart family's handyman, Richard Ricci, and the media was all over him. They had their experts on TV saying how he did it. I even remember Sean Hannity talking down Ricci, and calling him a scumbag. Well, it turned out that Ricci DIDN'T do it, and he ended up dying of a brain hemorrhage in a Salt Lake City prison. After Elizabeth Smart was found alive and her kidnappers were arrested, I was sickened. It was good news that she was found alive and unharmed, but an innocent man died in prison. I did some research and found that Ricci's wife actually filed a lawsuit against the Salt Lake City Police Department and settled the case for $150,000. In my opinion, the media should have been held accountable too. They tricked everyone into believing that Ricci was the bad guy. When will the media learn? Never, because they are despicable.

USA Flag Pin Not Cool Anymore?

After 9/11, almost every politician that appeared on television wore a USA flag pin on their lapelle. But last night on "Real Time with Bill Maher", Christopher Hitchens appeared to be wearing an Iraqi flag pin on his lapelle.

Also from last night, Hitchens seemed to be very frustrated by the audience. He flipped off the crowd on two occasions. I captured one of those flips and uploaded it to YouTube.

Number of U.S. Troops in Iraq Climbs

I thought the number of troops in Iraq has been declining. I thought Iraq was getting better. What is going on?

Our troops have been through so much over the last couple of years, and the military has the nerve to order the troops back to active duty, with the first involuntary recall since the beginning of the war. If the military recruiters can't get the job done, then too bad. We should stop the involuntary recall and just let the soldiers that have served go home. That way, when all the soldiers serve their time on active duty, we will have all the troops home. It's not the best plan to get our troops home, but it's better than to stay the course.

Rick Santorum & the Missing (But Now 'Found') Iraqi Chemical Weapons...Again

Senator Rick Santorum was one of tonight's guest on Hardball with Chris Matthews. Matthews questioned Santorum on Bush's comments from today about Iraq and 9/11, as well as Cheney's past comments. Santorum went off on the normal garbage about Islamo-Fascists and so on, and then had this to add about us finding chemical weapons in Iraq:

This is really sad. This isn't the first time he has said this either. He was on Hannity and Colmes when he first said this. Here is the original video. Once Hannity heard, he was all over the story. It is funny how these two people are the only ones on national television that have ever made this claim. Don't you think if real chemical weapons were found that the Bush Administration and the republicans would be all over it?

At the end of the Hardball interview, Matthews asked Santorum what he thought about Hardball hosting a debate for his Senate campaign with his opponent. Santorum lashed out and went after Matthews saying how the debate would help his opponent because Matthews has a background working for democrats (as President Carter's speechwriter).

It's funny, because if Chris Matthews was a democrat (or even a real journalist), he would have disputed or at least questioned Santorum's claim of chemical weapons being found in Iraq.

I have always thought that most republicans were mentally insane, and Rick Santorum is helping me make that case. A United States Senator is making false claims about a very serious subject, and no one questions or criticizes him over it. It's one thing to parade your dead 20 week old fetus around for your family to see, but do you have to continue with the distortion of the chemical weapons that were found in Iraq? They were from the 1980's (remember the Gipper). Our depleted uranium shells that we use in Iraq now do much more harm than these old weapons could have done if Saddam tried to use them. So give it up you right-wing nutjobs, you invaded the wrong country! Bush was looking in the wrong direction; or should I say, no direction....

There I said it. Yes, this case needs to be solved, but we do not need 24/7 coverage of this on national televsion. I can't believe a story like this one hasn't made it to American TV: "Kurds flee homes as Iran shells Iraq's northern frontier".

Anti-Suicide Bomber PSA Starts Airing in Iraq

There was news of this a couple of months ago, but it appears it is final. The Anti-Suicide Bombing Public Service Announcement has started airing on Iraqi television. It was shot in downtown Los Angeles by two film companies; one from Los Angeles and the other from Lebanon. The 60 second PSA features Matrix-style effects during the explosion. There is no mention of the cost of the PSA, but Newsweek reported in June that it would cost over $1 million to produce.

Bill O'Reilly Muslim-Bashing...Again

Last night on The O'Reilly Factor, Bill O'Reilly had this to say about Muslims:

So all young Muslims should be subjected to more scrutiny than Granny. And we should blend some Israeli screening procedures with our own.

For example, trained security people should receive the passenger list on every flight and interview those people most likely to be terrorists, folks who have traveled to Muslim countries, people who have criminal records. Passengers who are Muslims ages 16 to 45 all should be spoken with. And if the ACLU doesn't like it, tough. This isn't racial profiling. This is criminal profiling.

Maybe O'Reilly should rethink what he said. If he got his way and all Muslims ages 16 to 45 were taken aside at the airport, then someone like Osama Bin Laden could easily slip through security since he is 49 years of age!

Could you imagine Bill O'Reilly going on the FX show '30 Days' where he had to live with a Muslim family for 30 whole days? Now that would be interesting.

On Fox News Live today, Bill Hemmer was in Israel talking to his guest, and while they were talking, Bill Hemmer was mesmerised by an Israeli tank in the distance. Their camera man picked up the tank and zoomed in on it. Fox News even highlighted the tank with a circle on the screen, for those who don't know what a tank looks like.
Once the tank was out of sight, the camera panned back on to Bill Hemmer. He was leaning over staring at the tank and looked at the camera and realized it was back on him. His reaction was priceless.

AWOL Army Sgt. Speaks Out for the First Time

The Pentagon is now estimating that as many as 40,000 troops have deserted the U.S. Armed Forces over the past six years. Many have refused to fight in Iraq.

Today, we are joined by an Army sergeant, who chose to serve in Iraq as an army interrogator with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg. But he became a war resister after witnessing how the war was being fought.

His name is Sgt. Ricky Clousing. He is a 24-year-old from Sumner, Washington. He served in Iraq from December 2004 until April 2005. Within months after returning home, he went AWOL.

Terror Level Orange: Back to the Bunker

With the five year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaching soon, what do I hear when I turn on the TV this morning; the alert level has been risen to Level Orange. It is kind of funny in a way because you hear stories like this one, about Customs and Border Patrol agents getting across the Northen and Southern borders easily, sometimes with fake ID's and sometimes without ID's at all. Why are all those National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border? I thought it was for 'security' reasons. If we get attacked again, I don't want to hear people saying that President Bush did all that he could to stop the attack. He could be doing a lot more. For starters, he could stop taking so many damn vacations.

Military Recruiting Must Be REALLY Low

Over the past couple of years, it seems like the US Military has been devoting more time into trying to recruit new soldiers than actually fighting the 'War on Terror' (or for you right-wing nutjobs; 'War on Terra'). The military has been trying very hard to get kids to sign up. If they didn't convince you at your high school or your grocery store to sign up, they were going to get you another way.

One of the most recent attempts to get the younger ones to sign up was to start a video game called "America's Army". This game is pretty much like joining the US Army. You start out in basic training boot camp with firing your weapon, and then move on to training exercises. Once you pass all the training levels, you get to start fighting the 'terrorists'. It is funny though, because when you shoot someone, there is pretty much no blood and there are never any limbs missing or holes in the body. I assume there is no real violence in the game because of people like Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman. They have been on the forefront of fighting video game violence.

With the newer military-style video games out like Battle Field 2, America's Army must have died down. They recently cancelled the game. But for now, the military is trying something fresh. I give you, the Military Theme Park. They brought up a proposal for it in Virginia, but Officials there were objecting to it because they think it will cause too much traffic. So the military plans to build it a few miles down the road.

"You can command the latest M-1 tank, feel the rush of a paratrooper freefall, fly a Cobra Gunship or defend your B-17 as a waist gunner," according to the proposal, which was obtained by The Washington Post.

Nine Month Renovation of WH Press Room

Last week the White House announced that they were going to do a makeover of the White House Press Room. One might think that would mean adding some new curtains or a fancier podium, or maybe even getting a new Press Secretary, but nope. They are going all out on this one. They are going to re-do pretty much the entire room. The wall behind Tony Snow will now be a TV wall, which can display any type of graphic or video they want. I can't wait to be brainwashed by the new TV wall.

I haven't heard anything about how much this new makeover will cost American taxpayers, but I did hear that it will take NINE MONTHS to complete the renovation. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart re-did their studio in about two weeks or so. Why would it take nine months to complete it at the White House?

Some are questioning the length of the renovation. Here is a piece from the New York Times:

Thus the renovations, which are expected to last nine months. During that time, the journalists who cover the White House will move to quarters across Pennsylvania Avenue, prompting some to suspect that they were being pushed out for good by a president who is not exactly a big fan of the press.

That seems like something this President would do. I don't know what the big deal is already. Why don't they just close down the White House Press Room and ban all media outlets from covering this Administration, and then make Fox News the Official Government-Run 24/7 News Network. They already have Tony Snow on board. Everyone else on that network is a cheerleader for Bush and the Republicans, so it is a realistic plan.

Death Toll in Lebanon Reaches 1000

I was shocked when I heard this. Late last week the media was reporting estimated 600 dead in Lebanon. What is going on over there? Why hasn't our so-called President done anything yet? He still hasn't made any contact with the Israeli Prime Minister. It looks like he's giving Israel a free pass to do whatever they want; even if that includes massacring civilians.

Condi has been part of the Bush administration for over six years now, and she has hardly anything to show for it. That all changed last week. Condoleezza Rice has made Vanity Fair's International Best-Dressed list. And people criticized her when she went shoe-shopping in New York City instead of helping all those poor people in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. If she didn't buy all those expensive shoes, then she might not have made the Vanity Fair list.

Condi is working hard at her next big achievement; becoming a world renown musician. It is true. While the Middle East burns and people are getting slaughtered, she decided to play classical piano at the annual Association of Southeast Asian Nations dinner in Malaysia.

Before her big Vanity Affair achievement, she had something else in her name prior to becoming Secretary of State; an oil tanker. They actually named an oil tanker after her. That is pretty much the biggest achievement one can fulfill; unless you're George W. Bush and your goal in life was to invade Iraq.

REPORT: Iran Admits They Sold Weapons to Hezbollah

Guess where I heard this report from? You guessed it; Fox News. They also keep insisting that there are Iranian soldiers fighting along side Hezbollah. I have heard this allegation more than once in the last week on that network.

I should note, I have been unsuccessful with finding this latest report on foxnews.com. Since I couldn't find it there, I decided to check the Drudge Report, since the 24/7 news networks get most of their "reporting" from there. Sure enough, the headline on Drudge's website is "IRAN ADMITS: SUPPLIED MISSILES TO HEZBOLLAH". Here's another one for you; the source of the article is The Jerusalem Post.

Here's a highlight from the article:

The extent of Iran's intimate involvement in Hizbullah attacks is starting to emerge.

Umm, where does Israel get their weapons from? The United States. We don't just supply Israel with weapons, we give them everything; Jets, Bombers, Helicopters, Transporters, HMMV's and so on. That is why Israel is often called America Jr. Or do I have that backwards? Is America often called Israel Jr. since they pretty much own our government.

Either way, these people (US and Israeli governments) are so desperate. They want to invade Iran so badly. Bush got his way in Iraq and now look what has happened. I just don't understand how Bush and Olmert can consider themselves to be religious people.

MISSING: Fox News' Sources

On Fox News this morning, sometime around 9am EST, there was a headline on the screen that said something like: "REPORT: IRAN PAYING $1000 TO FAMILY MEMBERS OF DEAD HEZBOLLAH FIGHTERS". There was no mention of the source of that report. I searched foxnews.com for the report and found nothing.

This is starting to smell fishy, just like the guest they had on Fox and Friends a week or two ago. Their guest was giving the Arab point of view. I don't recall her name, but the text on the screen under her name read "Arab News Journalist". During the entire interview, there was no mention of which paper or network she worked for, or contributed to. I should mention this "Arab News Journalist" was white and spoke perfect American-English.

If I find that missing Fox News report from this morning, I will post the link. Or you can just wait and tune into Hannity and Colmes tonight; I am sure the loud mouth will be talking about it.

Here is an interesting article from Fox News. It is called "Ground Zero Sickness Study Uses Old Data". I should mention I found this under their "Junk Science" section on their website. Here is the second paragraph of the article, direct from Fox News:

But it’s a great example of researchers and media cooperating to produce ominous, rather than accurate, headlines.

I repeat again, this is direct from FOX NEWS! How come it's ok for Fox News to use inaccurate headlines and reports for that matter, but not others, such as Newsweek in this example. I report, you decide. Here's the link.

Iraq Chooses Cindy Sheehan Over Condi

I was listening to Randi Rhodes on Air America Radio this afternoon, and her first guest was Cindy Sheehan. She announced some big news; Herself and a group of peace activists have been invited to Jordan to meet with leading members of the Iraqi Parliament to work on a Peace Plan. They are leaving for Jordan tonight.

The Iraqi's chose Cindy over Condi! News like this should be broadcasted on our television sets, but I doubt it will be. That's the liberal media for you.

Venezuela Now Part of the Axis of Evil?

In the last post I mentioned Neil Cavuto scored another exclusive interview with President Bush. In that interview, Cavuto goes on to ask Bush about Hugo Chavez, the President of Venezuela, and if he considers Chavez a threat to the United States.

CAVUTO: What did you make of that, and what did you make of his travels to countries and leaders who are no fans of yours and the U.S.?

BUSH: You know, what I care about is the Venezuelan people. And you, know, we have good relations with Venezuela for years. And I'm deeply concerned about a government that would undermine the basic fundamentals of democracy. And I would hope that the president of Venezuela invests in his people, that — there's a problem...

It is funny how all the people in the media and our government (including the President), consider Hugo Chavez a dictator and say Venezuela is not a democracy. It appears these people don't have all the complete facts.

Hugo Chavez was democratically elected twice by the people of Venezuela. Isn't one part of a democracy the right to protest? Many anti-Chavez protests take place in Venezuela; would a cold-hearted dictator allow this?

Here is the part that the media doesn't tell you and the part the government doesn't want you to know. This might be shocking to you, but it is once again about oil. Hugo Chavez has been taking more money away from the big oil companies, which doesn't go over too well with the United States government.

The major oil companies that are located inside Venezuela, such as PhillipsConoco, were taking 84% of the profits, which left the country with only 16% from the oil revenue. Chavez had his Congress pass an oil law called the "Law of Hydrocarbons". This law would make it so Venezuela would get 30% of the oil profits, leaving 70% to the big oil companies.

The 30% of oil profits would be used towards Chavez's "Bread and Bricks" plan. This plan would give food and unused land to the poor. So, what does our President have to say about Hugo Chavez and poverty in Venezuela? Here is a piece from Cavuto's August 1st 2006 interview with Bush:

BUSH: I view him as a threat of undermining democracy. And I view him as a threat. You know, I — I — I would — wish he would invest his petrodollars with the people of Venezuela, and give them a chance to, you know, get out of poverty, and give them a chance to realize hopes and dreams.

It is comments like the one above that endangers our democracy and others around the world.

There is one more laughable piece from the interview. It is in regards to Venezuela being a threat to us. Here is the great Neil Cavuto once again:

CAVUTO: Are — are you amazed, Mr. President, in light of all the turbulence in the Middle East, the ongoing Iraq war, threats from Iran, threats from Syria, threats from Hugo Chavez, that the economy has been doing extremely well?

One final thing I would like to add; if Hugo Chavez is an evil dictator, why did he supply low-income families here in Vermont and other north-eastern states with heating oil last Winter?

Fox News & President Bush's Wedding Date

What is it about Fox News that they get all the exclusive Bush interviews? I think just about every host on Fox News has had an interview with Bush. Neil Cavuto had his chance again yesterday to go at it with Chimpy.

The other networks, mainly MSNBC and CNN, don't get that many interviews with him. It's pretty much Chris Matthews and Larry King that get the exclusive Presidential interviews. How come Keith Olberman doesn't get an exclusive interview? Oh, that's right, he's the only one on any of the 24/7 network news channels that actually report on real news and tells the truth. If it weren't for Keith Olberman and Jon Stewart, I think I would go insane.

One last thing. On Fox News' website, the transcript to the Bush interview is listed under "Cavuto's CEO Interview". Take a look for yourself.

Bush Stumbles Down Stairs

Just when I thought he couldn't get any worse; he stumbles down the stairs of Air Force One. It would have been worse (and funny) if he actually fell down the steps. Do Americans really think this guy got elected twice without cheating?

How much more embarrassing can this guy get??
